Department of History

The study programme of  History cultivates sophisticated graduates with extensive knowledge from the fields of the humanities and social sciences. It enables students to attain essential historical knowledge and the basic skills of scientific research, corresponding to the highest international standards. Graduates are capable of an in-depth, critical, and analytical perception of the past, and are additionally able to observe and critically evaluate contemporary political and social phenomena. The competencies acquired here enable graduates to engage in research, journalistic, archival, and museological work in the field of history, as well as to perform various related activities in the fields of the humanities and social sciences.
